In this minimalist painting, we see a man in a bowler hat who is well up into the sky, being carried away by a red balloon. He is way above the clouds and off to who knows where. I've seen images of people being carried away by balloons - but never quite like this. The idea for this painting came from the expression, "Don't get carried away with yourself", which, I heard someone say earlier this week. This visual popped into my head and I knew I had to do it. It's extremely simple, yet also quite striking. And there are so many story implications awaiting this one. 'You're really going places.' 'We heard you're moving.' 'You're on your way to the top.' 'Don't get carried away.' I'll leave that up to the purchaser!
