This piece was inspired by time spent along the shipping port in Savannah, where large working ships rest quietly at dock. I was drawn to the contrast — the bold colors of the ship against the open sky, the layered textures of metal and wood, and the way light moved across those surfaces. There was no narrative I was searching for, only the visual rhythm created by color, texture, and stillness. In that moment, the harbor felt calm and grounded, shaped by both industry and the natural movement of light.
