The triptych “The Grass by” is a journey through Scotland’s storied landscape, rendered in my distinctive pointillistic style. Each panel invites the viewer to experience a different historic castle, united by the ever-present embrace of Scottish grasslands.
Part 1: Balvaird Castle
The first panel captures Balvaird Castle rising above a tapestry of wild grasses. Through countless dots of color, I evoke the interplay of sunlight and shadow across ancient stone and living earth, highlighting the quiet resilience of both nature and history.
Part 2: Kellie Castle
In the central panel, Kellie Castle emerges from a sea of green, its silhouette softened by the gentle movement of spring grasses. The pointillistic technique brings a sense of vibrancy and immediacy, inviting viewers to feel the breeze and the passage of time.
Part 3: Elcho Castle
