In the fall of 2023, we had our first Anna's hummingbird visitor in Boise. He stayed through the entire winter, giving me plenty of opportunities to capture his gorgeous magenta gorget, such as in this close-up. This species has started to spend colder months in the Treasure Valley only in recent years, due to our changing climate.
