Surprises occur when I work with oil and cold wax. In this small (10" x 10") people appeared in the shadows beneath an old oak tree leaning at an angle. Why are they gathered, highlighted in bright yellow like the sunshine in the top right corner? Are they seated by the water? Perhaps they are waiting. For what?
