Born into COVID and baptized by fire, Secret Garden is a direct result of the pressure and tumult and change of 2020’s confluence of turbulent events. In a world seemingly turned on its head, the values and colors are inverted. A once familiar backdrop becomes fragmented and changes with light—or dark; a shifting kaleidoscope of fractal patterns, both familiar—and not. Part recognizable, part abstract, Secret Garden suspends reality; oft times lost, then found, then lost again—an encouragement to let go of fear and control. She is a siren’s call to wander and explore, a lure to adventure in open curiosity, without expectation. She emerges… a riotous sweep of color, with layer after layer of transition, growth, and glazing designed to bring beautiful flaws and idiosyncrasies to life.
Secret Garden is radically different from any work that preceded it, unapologetically bursting to life as a radiant, energetic and resilient transformation of herself.
