am more likely to draw inspiration from fanciful cosmological conjectures rather than TV shows or popular influences, The Three Body Problem (Netflix) intrigued me in its sci-fi fictionalized use of the latest theories. It prompted me to consider expanding my visual vocabulary to incorporate the complex dynamics of three interacting forms when I am more well-known for exploring one strong central form or two interacting forms.
The Three Body Problem is a classic problem in celestial mechanics dealing with the interactions between three celestial bodies in space. It is a complex problem with no generalized solution that has puzzled scientists for centuries. There are a few stable solutions to the problem but most scenarios are unpredictable and lead to eventual chaos. The associated mathematics has been used to model the behavior of many systems in the universe, from planets orbiting around stars to galaxies orbiting each other.
This new artwork showcases the interplay of gravitational forces in a cosmic ballet of unseen forces acting on swirling orbs in red, yellow, and blue luminous orbits.
