I paint portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and nudes, exclusively from life. My goal as an artist is to carve a bleeding chunk of reality out of its environment and slap it down on a scrap of canvas.

I do not have a complicated philosophy about my art. I find and portray beautiful places in nature or the human world that speak to me. My landscapes are derived from photographs I have taken. Capturing light in nature is the simplest statement of what I attempt in general.
