Staying Human in the Digital Age

Staying Connected to the Physical World

(from Wendy Ice)

I spent several hours today working with AI to accomplish tedious business tasks. A few years ago, those tasks would have taken me weeks (or months) to accomplish. I'm sincerely grateful for the help.

At the same time, the experience was strangely draining. It took an hour of walking (sans umbrella) in the rain to feel fully embodied again.

The more time I spend with digital technologies, the more I feel the need to connect with the physical world.

I'm curious if others feel the same way.

I feel it....I CRAVE to see real human created things, see real humans - specifically due to the intrusion of 'fake' AI created 'slop'. I feel that most people are feeling this way at this point in history. That said....AI has been a time saver in my day job as well as my art business. There's a balance, I think, that has to be acceptable, to make life easier without fake-i-fying everything.

I think you're right. We're seeing a backlash. I'd like to think that AI can help artists take care of tedious business tasks and give them more time for creation. I appreciate that this site is making a distinction between human-created art and AI-generated art.
