Art Residencies

International Residency in France

I spent the month of November, 2024 at an international artists' residency in France. There were about 25 artists present, including about 14 painters, 10 writers and one singer/songwriter. It was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It was expensive, but several of us were able to obtain grants to help with the expense (one or two people had grants that fully funded the residency). URL: https://www.chateauorquevaux.com/

I remember you posting about that in Small Wins, Wendell. What a great opportunity for you! Do you have any information on a grant you got or grants the others had? If you did, it would be great if you could post that info in the community I started called "Art Grants & Fellowships".

That will truly be helpful.

Sounds perfick. As Pa Larkin would say (Darling Buds of May). This is a random comment for those who are unfamiliar with the program or the book. But it evokes the same feeling of utter delight in a world full of good friends, good food, and painting - Ma Larkin was a painter although in the TV Services (Catherine Zeta-Jones starred as Mariette - the Larkin eldest daughter) we only saw her do that one. Eating happened MUCH more often.
