A busy afternoon in New York City. I was heading back downtown with a friend driving. While enjoying the bustle on the streets among massive buildings, I turned around and snapped a photo to memorialize in a painting. I like to think about that moment because it reminds me to slow down and appreciate being able to experience that moment; to try to remember that there are so many simultaneous events, even in the wavelengths of light hitting the eye, which we read as light and color. Depiction of the original oil painting on Board 24" x 30" x 2.75" 2010
Oil painting by Timothy Ginexi depticting an exaggerated perspective looking up an urban street from the point of view of a vehicle. Tall buildings hit by afternoon sunlight and cast shadows create warm and cool color shapes.
