In every generation, wisdom is a gift meant to be shared. *Ancestors Watch: Passing Down Wisdom* portrays the quiet bond between an elder bison and a younger one walking side by side. The younger learns not through words, but by staying close—observing strength, patience, and the steady confidence that comes from a life well lived. As a Native American artist, I have always admired the way many Indigenous cultures honor their elders as keepers of knowledge and tradition. This painting reflects that deep respect while also reminding us that each of us has something valuable to pass on. Our experiences—the joys, the hardships, and the lessons learned through faith—can become a source of hope and encouragement for someone else. I believe God allows us to walk through every season for a purpose. The comfort, wisdom, and perseverance we receive are not meant to end with us, but to be shared with those who need them. Like these two bison moving together across the prairie, we are stronger when we learn from those who have gone before us and, in turn, guide those who follow. My hope is that this painting encourages you to reflect on those who have shaped your life and inspires you to become a steady, compassionate presence for the next generation. Sometimes the greatest legacy we leave behind is not found in what we accomplish, but in the wisdom, love, and faith we choose to share.
An invitation to pause, connect, reflect, and feel restored—through art.
