I’m drawn to scenes where reflection changes the whole story. In this painting, the glass, the street, and the interior all overlap, turning an ordinary place into something layered and a little mysterious.

I love how city spaces can feel both familiar and abstract at the same time.

What kind of place do you find yourself looking at twice?

The overlapping planes in glass work is always a waiting game. I shot a corner bookstore in Kyoto through rain-streaked windows once, same doubled-up layers, same sense of not quite knowing where you're standing. That overlap you're after here, the way the street folds into the interior, that's the good stuff.

The glass doing double duty here is what makes it work. You've got the café interior layered with whatever's across the street, and suddenly it's not just a window, it's depth you can't quite pin down. That mystery you mentioned isn't added on, it's structural.

I catch myself staring twice at garden gates when the sun's low and everything behind the bars gets tangled with shadows on the pavement. Same principle, different setting. The overlap is what pulls you back in.
