Collecting for the Future: 250 Years of the Albertina, Opening tomorrow, June 19! The Albertina is turning 250 and celebrating with a jubilee show that traces how the collection came together over the centuries. Yes, Dürer's Young Hare is in it. Runs through October 11.
KAWS: Art & Comix at the Albertina Modern, Pop culture, street art, and comics collide in a show that puts KAWS's iconic characters in dialogue with works from Basquiat to Lichtenstein. On view until September 27. If you make art that lives between illustration and fine art, this one's for you.
Anni Albers: Constructing Textiles at the Lower Belvedere, Bauhaus weaving, material experiments, large-scale room dividers, and her theoretical writings, all in one show spanning every creative period. A must for textile artists and anyone who believes craft is art. Through August 16.
Canaletto & Bellotto at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, 18th-century cityscapes of Venice, London, Dresden, and Vienna itself. Plein air painters, urban sketchers, anyone who loves light on architecture: treat this as a masterclass. On view until September 6.
Katherine Hubbard at the Wiener Secession, The Philadelphia-born artist just opened her summer show on June 12, exploring the camera as a site of encounter rather than a recording device. Photography meets performance meets text. Runs through August 30, and remember: the Secession is free on the first Wednesday of every month (July 1 is next).
Animalia: Of Animals and Humans at the Heidi Horten Collection, Over 100 works from the 20th and 21st centuries exploring the relationship between humans and animals. Thought-provoking reference material if your own practice touches on nature or the nonhuman. Through August 30.

Vasarely & Adrian: Dynamic Grids at the Albertina, Opens June 26. Op-art legend Victor Vasarely paired with Viennese pioneer Marc Adrian. If grids, optical illusions, and kinetic energy get your pulse going, mark your calendar.
Gustav Klimt and Medicine at the Leopold Museum, Closing June 28! Original Klimt works exploring anatomy, medicine, and the intellectual atmosphere of turn-of-the-century Vienna. This is your last week and a half. Go.

Wiener Festwochen: Final days (through June 21), The Vienna Festival's 75th anniversary edition wraps up this Sunday. Five weeks of theatre, opera, dance, and performance across 34 venues. If you haven't caught a show yet, you still have a few days left.
Film Festival at Rathausplatz (starting July 4), Free open-air screenings of opera, concert films, and music documentaries every evening on a giant screen in front of the Rathaus, with a food village to keep you fed. Screenings start around 9 PM. Bring a sketchbook and soak up the atmosphere.
Vienna Design Week 2026: Open Calls now live, Two open calls are currently running for the autumn edition of Vienna Design Week. Different topics, different target groups, but both are invitations to become part of the festival. If your work sits at the intersection of art and design, take a look.
💛 Feel-good corner
Austria's largest mural now towers over Döbling, Street artist Okuda San Miguel transformed the 52-meter-high former APA tower into a 1,100 square meter canvas, using roughly 800 liters of paint and over 800 spray cans. The piece, titled "In Equality," was created as part of the Calle Libre festival and makes a bold statement for diversity and social cohesion. It also marks the starting point for a new urban development project on the site. Next time you're in the 19th district, look up.
