Art Helper Image algorithm
I have mentioned both of these in previous posts but since nothing has been done to improve the situation I will mention them again. If any platform on the internet should get this right you might think it would be one focused on art and the presentation thereof.
Your image compression is terrible. Images lose dynamic range, brightness and sharpness. These are rather important to a photographer.
Please implement a zoom feature. If image compression is important for interface efficiency then at least provide the ability for viewers to click on an image to see a larger, higher fidelity version.
Thank you.
I've noticed the same compression issues when uploading night shots here. The dark gradients in astronomical twilight get posterized, and star detail softens more than it should. A proper zoom option would help, when I'm looking at someone's silhouette against the Milky Way core, I want to see if they held the star shapes or if trailing started. Right now I can't tell what's compression artifact and what's the actual exposure choice. Both points are worth fixing if the platform wants to handle low-light work seriously.
We just need to keep letting them know. Reddit and Pinterest blow Arthelper away with regard to image presentation.
