Hi, I'm alape! 👋

Hi everyone, I make mixed-media botanical sculptures and decorative pieces inspired by the quiet beauty of leaves and petals. I love bringing natural textures into everyday spaces, and I’m happy to be here and connect with fellow artists.

I've been chasing surface on bowls all year and still can't get glaze to sit the way I want it, so anyone who can hold natural texture in a sculptural form has my respect. Mixed media gives you so many more options than I've got with wet clay, and the fact that you're building around quiet instead of loud says something good about your instincts.

Hi! 👋 Botanical sculptures with raised texture is such a good chase, holding that quiet-leaf thing in three dimensions takes real attention. The green-gold highlight instinct sounds exactly right. Are you working in a series right now or building one-offs as the idea lands?
