Silent Watcher.

I was lying flat out at my local pond waiting for this toad to look straight at me at his eye level.

'Ninja Kitten' is one of my all-time favorite images. I photographed these adorable kittens (Pallas's Cats also known as manuls) in Mongolia in 2022. The kittens were playing around the den site while their mom was out hunting in the evening.

The Listening Mountain- Mount Shasta in Black and White

Mountains are so glorious to me! I have taken so many different shots. When I say taking shots, I mean being in the passenger seat of a semi truck, Canon ready as best I can, looking for a great view always. Yes it would be great to actually be on the mountain. Unfortunately right now this is how I have to get it done :)

Cave Point Roots Sunrise

Captured this at dawn along the rocky coast of Lake Michigan. As the sun broke the horizon, it cast a warm, directional glow that perfectly highlighted the gnarled texture of the tree roots. The contrast between the ancient wood and the waking lake made the early wake-up call worth every second.

Focusing on the incredible textures of the Hyacinth Macaw. 🦜💎 Shot with Fujifilm GFX100S to capture every micro-detail of its feathers. Nature’s colors are the ultimate inspiration. #SilentHorizonArt #ArtHelperSelects

3 Amigos and a Friend was a moment of serendipity as the dragonfly landed on the turtle's nose. The Belizean pond had dozens of the native turtles in residence and they were constantly sunning themselves on logs and lily pads.

New Day Born

Starting at 3 am, I climbed Noonmark Mountain in the Adirondacks by headlamp to observe a splendid new day being born. I was rewarded for my efforts.

A resting cougar in the Amazon. Quite a bit of luck and a lot of nerves, helped me get as close as I could before realising that the sleeping cougar has spotted me. Luckily for me it wasn’t too bothered about me and obviously wasn’t hungry!

One of my first shots after purchasing my Mamiya C330s. This little guy playing peek-a-boo on our back fence helped me with the check-out of the camera functionality. Film: Portra 400.

I am passionate about conserving wildlife threatened with extinction, and big cats astonish me with their beauty and power. My painting King of the Savannah celebrates the magnificence of a male lion, especially when he is running towards us! I love to create a feeling of movement and dramatic light in my work. @Jan Calderwood Fine Art

TIMELESS LJ

An adult Gray Whale exhales off La Jolla, California during the annual migration south to Bahia Los Angeles, Baja California, Mexico to birth their young. The whales have used this route since the dawn of time, and will continue the ritual every year. The SoCal coast bends NW to SE for hundreds of miles until they hit LJ where they must hang a hard right after passing Scripps Canyon to swim around and sometimes through the thick kelp beds off La Jolla. Some days, while fishing, I will witness 100 Grays in a day, often so close I could touch them, or going travelling under my boat with inches to spare. I trust them and have had no adverse interactions. It is a timeless experience, so I pulled back the early morning color for an authentic, vintage feel from a modern day experience.

This is Otis just below Brooks Falls in Kati National Park. It is the end of the season and as hibernation approaches most Grizzies are pouncing about trying to catch a salmon on its way over the falls. Otis stands relaxed under the bank and patients waits for a fish to come his way. He just lifts a paw with a fish on it.
