🎪 Show & Sell — Where to Display & Sell Your Art Around Miami (August)

Hey Miami makers, August is your month. Yes, it is hot. Yes, it is humid. And yes, people are absolutely out here buying art, browsing markets, and discovering new artists. Whether you have a booth tent already or you have never sold at a public event before, there is a real spot for you this month. Here is where to show up, set up, and sell.

🟢 Easiest to Start (Beginner-Friendly, Low Cost)

  • Wynwood Marketplace Vendor Program (beginner-friendly, rolling applications, fee varies by weekend). This open-air venue on the same block as Wynwood Walls hosts live art installations by local artists every week and actively welcomes new vendors. The crowd is already art-curious and tourist-heavy, which makes it one of the warmest rooms in the city for a first-time seller. Apply directly through their vendor page and ask about weekend availability in August.

  • Wonderland Market at Society Wynwood (Monthly Night Farmers Market) (beginner-friendly, low barrier, mixed vendor fees). Wonderland Market and Society Wynwood run a monthly night market from 6 to 10 PM featuring artisanal goods, live music, and local vendors in the heart of Wynwood. The evening atmosphere and walkable neighborhood bring in a lively, browsing crowd, and the format is relaxed enough to be a great first public show experience.

  • TheCraftMap: Miami August Listings (beginner-friendly, average booth fee around $82). TheCraftMap tracks craft fairs, art shows, and artisan markets across Miami with booth fees, application deadlines, and vendor reviews, updated weekly. Right now it shows multiple upcoming August events in and around Miami, including the Miami Summer Market Days series. If you have never done a market before, their listings also include a booth ROI calculator so you can run the numbers before you commit. A great first stop for any artist figuring out the local circuit.

🟡 Step Up Markets (Curated, Bigger Crowds)

  • 2026 Miami Tropical Arts, Crafts & Food Festival (curated, booth fee range typical for 3-day festivals, some jury review). Running August 7 to 9 at 301 Biscayne Blvd in downtown Miami, this three-day open-air festival put on by Main Street Maker Markets LLC brings together handmade crafts, colorful original art, and tropical food vendors right in the heart of the city. The Biscayne location means serious foot traffic, and the mix of art, craft, and food draws shoppers who actually buy. A strong mid-tier choice for artists who have done a market or two and want a higher-volume crowd.

  • 2026 Miami Summer Arts, Crafts & Food Market Fest (curated, multi-day, vendor review process). This three-day open-air marketplace is designed specifically to highlight local creativity and support local businesses, with a curated mix of original artwork, prints, photography, ceramics, jewelry, and handmade pieces. Music and performances run throughout the weekend. The Art Fair Gallery lists this as an active August event, and vendor applications flow through their platform. A good step up from a neighborhood market, with a more intentional art-buying crowd.

  • Wynwood Marketplace Weekend Vendor Spots (Recurring) (semi-curated, ongoing, varies by slot). Beyond the rolling vendor program, the Marketplace runs a consistent weekly open-air shopping experience on the same street as Wynwood Walls, with live art installations by Wynwood local artists as part of the built-in draw. A vendor here is not just selling at a table. They are part of the art scene that visitors specifically travel to Wynwood to experience. For artists a step past the beginner stage, a weekend slot here delivers real exposure.

📢 Open Calls and Databases (Apply Now for August and Beyond)

  • EntryThingy: Florida Calls for Artists (all levels, free to browse, entry fees vary by opportunity). EntryThingy aggregates calls for artists from CaFÉ, Zapplication, ArtCall, and independent galleries. Their Florida page currently shows 131 active calls, and you can filter by deadline, type, and fee. Several open calls have August deadlines, and the database is updated daily. If you are looking for exhibition opportunities beyond the booth circuit, this is the most thorough free tool available right now.

  • CaFÉ by WESTAF (CallForEntry.org) (all levels, free artist account). CaFÉ is the platform behind many of the country's most respected public art, gallery, and juried show calls. Creating a free artist profile lets you apply to Florida and national opportunities in one place. It is particularly strong for public art commissions and museum-adjacent exhibitions, which are worth pursuing in parallel with booth shows.

  • ZAPP (ZAPPlication.org) (curated to established, free artist profile). ZAPP is the jurying system trusted by hundreds of juried art fairs and festivals. Their current Florida listings include the Las Olas Art Fair in Fort Lauderdale (October 2026) with applications open now, plus other South Florida events. If you are building toward the bigger juried circuit, getting your ZAPP profile polished and your booth photos strong this month puts you ahead for fall deadlines.

💡 Beyond the Booth: Real Ways Miami Artists Sell This Month

  • Café and Boutique Consignment Walls in Wynwood and Little Havana (beginner-friendly, typically free to hang, consignment split 30 to 50%). Wynwood has a cluster of art-friendly cafés including Arte Y Pasión Café, Garrin Art Caffe, and Co-Op Miami Gallery that rotate local work on their walls. Little Havana has its own set of neighborhood spots that display and sell local art. Walk in with a small portfolio (physical or on your phone), ask to speak to the owner, and propose a short-term consignment arrangement. A flat fee under $100 almost never applies here. The trade-off is a commission on sales, but your work is up 7 days a week with zero booth setup required.

  • Wynwood World Cup Pop-Up Art Activation (Through August 27) (beginner-friendly, no booth fee to participate as a spectator-facing artist). Wynwood is running FIFA World Cup-adjacent programming through late August, including hand-painted public art walks and an immersive exhibition at Mana Wynwood through September. This foot-traffic surge is a real opportunity: pitch a pop-up to a Wynwood gallery or courtyard space, align your work loosely with cultural themes, and ride the elevated tourist numbers that come with international events. Even setting up a print table at a Wynwood venue during a busy Saturday night costs far less than a festival booth.

  • List-Building at Every Booth or Pop-Up (free, and the most underused tool on the local circuit). Whether you do one market or five this month, bring a simple sign-up sheet or a QR code to a short digital form. Collecting even 20 to 30 email addresses per event means you own a direct line to people who have already seen and liked your work. Over a few months, that list becomes your most reliable sales channel, especially heading into the December Miami Art Week season when buyers are actively looking.

🚗 Worth the Drive (These Skew More Established)

  • Cultural Council for Palm Beach County: Art Market Call for Artists (established, juried, West Palm Beach, applications open now, first jury round deadline October 2). This is the 10th annual contemporary art, craft, and design market in West Palm Beach, just across from the Town of Palm Beach. Up to 150 artists may gather to showcase their work, with judges presenting cash awards in 2D, 3D, and Best in Show. It is a more established show with a jurying process, but the August window is your chance to prepare your application materials now. A solid goal for artists ready to move beyond the local market circuit.

  • ArtsCalendar.com (Broward County Arts Events and Open Calls) (all levels, Broward County, free to browse). South Florida's leading platform for arts and cultural events in Broward County lists open calls, gallery exhibitions, and emerging artist opportunities on a rolling basis, including current listings from ArtServe and Sunrise Civic Center Gallery. For Miami artists, Fort Lauderdale is a 30-minute drive and opens up a second market ecosystem with its own collector base. Checking ArtsCalendar weekly in August can surface exhibition calls with deadlines you would otherwise miss.
