The metallics pull actual heat out of those reds and golds. I've never worked with melted crayon but I can see why you would for this, it holds that liquid-fire shape in a way paint doesn't. The whole thing reads like embers still moving.

I wish you could see this in person. My camera unfortunately doesn’t quite capture how it looks. In the process of getting a better camera. Thank you so so much for seeing what I tried to capture.

The way that metallic catches the wax texture, especially in the upper right where it pools. I'm always chasing light in nature shots, but there's something about how you're building light into the surface itself here that I keep coming back to in this piece.
