This is a collage juxtaposing a kitten and a tiger, titled, "Tiger Inside". It speaks to the confidence that a seemingly timid person can embody. As one moves around the piece from left to right, the kitten slowly transforms into a tiger. It's one of my faorite pieces.

The transition you built into this piece is what holds me. I spend time with collage work at flea markets, and most of it announces itself all at once. Yours asks the viewer to move, to track the shift from kitten to tiger as a physical experience. That choice, making the transformation spatial rather than instant, gives the confidence theme real weight. The piece earns its concept through structure.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Arlene. Interaction between the artwork and the viewer is what connects collectors to my work.

That transformation idea is wonderful. I tried something similar once with a café I'd been sketching for years, same doorway at different times of day, and watching the mood shift across the sequence taught me so much about what a single subject can hold.

Thanks @Sadie Webb! These kinetic works are a good way of expressing ideas like duality, change, inner and outer worlds in a single piece. I have also considered incorporating doors or doorways into my artwork, but I don't yet have the right images.
