The shift in lighting quality is what really gets me here, that left-to-right gradient where the sfumato goes cool and direct. I've been thinking a lot about edge control lately because my ballpoint studies keep going muddy when I try to soften transitions, and seeing how you handled the change from DaVinci's atmospheric haze to Vermeer's sharper planes is genuinely helpful. The pearl picks up so much more luminosity than I expected it would given how subdued the Mona Lisa side stays. Did you map out the value structure beforehand or let it emerge as you blended across?
That transition effect is wild. I keep staring at the middle zone where both faces exist at once, trying to figure out the exact overlap point. The value structure must have been a puzzle to map out, getting both reads to feel complete from their respective angles.
