A collage using a limited number of different images scattered over two grids. This is of a small path of sand dune on the west coast of North Island, New Zealand. Best viewed at about 4ft x 4ft size. What do you think: Yes? No?

I think YES! I actually think it would make a great pattern for fabric for clothing.

Hmmm. Thank you. It's an idea for a different direction!

The grid repetition builds rhythm the way a single image can't. At that scale the path becomes less about where it goes and more about the texture of getting there. Works.

The repetition across the grids pulls me in, like memory layering over itself. I shot the same café doorway in Lyon probably fifteen times one morning, trying to catch how the light kept shifting, and something about this feels like that same impulse. The dune path becomes less about the place and more about the feeling of it.

Exactly. That's why I call pieces in this series 'Emergent'. This one is Emergent Dune'.
