As a photographer, the Kuindzhi light is what I strive for and have spent hours waiting for that moment, and Turner is a master. I could look at that sky all day. Having dabbled in painting I am in awe of how anyone could create that sky. That being said I choose A for the peace.
I've been chasing that Kuindzhi light for years. The left one, that stillness costs something. You don't get that gradient by moving fast or overthinking it. Turner's good at what he does, the churn and grab of it, but give me the patient wait every time. Shot something similar last winter at a lakeshore, sat there three hours for maybe eight minutes of usable light. Worth it.

I've spent years trying to land that Turner energy in my own frames and it's brutal, the waiting, the moment, the light doing something you can't control. What pulled you toward these two specifically? Stick around, the room sees this kind of thinking.
For me, the essence of landscape is this constant pull between two poles: the storm and the silence. As an artist, I want to capture both truths, to feel how the light shifts in each of these states. I chose these two works precisely to explore this contrast—I’m curious to know which state speaks to you more?
