In "Navigating Nature: Netting Movement and Light," patterns of light and shadow reveal a young man, navigating between rock and water with a seine net. The black-and-white posterization enhances contrast, drawing attention to the mirrored angles and his athleticism. Ripples reflect a a back and forth with nature and movement. This posterized black and white image encourages a plunge into outdoor adventure.

The city itself, even when seen in reflections on a transparent surface, reveals the hardness and the cold structure of its soul.

"Sand and Ring". I was delighted to happen upon a Joshua tree acting like a catcher's mitt for the sun, with a halo!

The title was inspired by America's "Horse With No Name", and the lyric,

"After nine days, I let the horse run free
'Cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rings."

American Bull Frog Living in Suburbia. Exotic wildlife lives everywhere, including urban and suburban areas. All you have to do is to look and you will find amazing wildlife doing amazing things, like this American Bullfrog floating on a pond. He is very cool, isn’t he?

"Inheritance" explores the weight of environmental consequence through the eyes of those who will carry it longest. The cracked earth radiates outward like a wound, and at its center stands a child — looking up to the elder perspective. Rendered in stark black and white, the image means to provoke questions about what world are we handing down...

I love how you can't determine when it was taken from the image.

On an eerily foggy morning, I came across this empty playground veiled in thick mist. There wasn’t a sound—not even a breeze—only the damp hush of fog settling around me. As the fog began to lift, I turned back toward the canal and noticed a hauntingly beautiful scene unfolding. A billow of fog was rolling past this single bare tree by a set of swings. I had only seconds to capture the composition before it faded—just enough time to line up the elements and preserve the quiet melancholy of that fleeting moment.

"Frayed Memories"

This is a true black and white photograph. The funny thing about this photograph is that I took it around 8am in the morning. This is a photograph of some flowers blooming in a field above our house. These flowers were beautiful with the sun shining down on them.

There is a unique kind of magic in stripping away color. When you remove the vibrancy of the rainbow, you are left with the raw soul of an image: light, shadow, and texture.

Black and white photography isn't just about looking "vintage"; it’s about focus. By leaning into high contrast and deep blacks, a simple subject—like the elegant arch of a dancer's foot or the rugged hem of denim—becomes a study in form and emotion.
