A donkey brays from behind a rustic wooden fence, its open mouth and alert expression giving the scene a playful energy. Monochrome tones bring out the animal’s texture and the rugged rocks around it.

I've always loved that black and white does this thing where the subject just becomes more itself. That playful energy you caught here, the whole scrappy personality of the moment, it all comes through cleaner without color getting in the way. This is the kind of shot that reminds me why I love photography as storytelling, not just technique.

That open mouth caught mid-bray is everything. The texture, the rocks, the fence doing just enough, monochrome was the right call here. It lets the moment be exactly as loud and alive as it was.
