Night Flight

Night Flight is a small oil painting, measuring just 2 1/2 by 2 1/3 inches, matted to a 5 by 5-inch square. In this piece, I explored the restless energy of ocean waves in motion, capturing their turbulent rhythm with thick, textured brushstrokes of blue and white. Above the waves, two white birds cut across a deep blue background, offering a quiet contrast and a sense of scale. The painting is framed simply with a white mat edged in black, then enclosed in a broad black frame that draws the eye into the scene. This work reflects my ongoing interest in the continuous flow and shifting forms within nature, inviting a pause to observe movement found within stillness.
