Merch Pricing at Fairs

Hi, I'm looking for advice from people that have been selling merch at fairs for a while. Is there a sweet spot for pricing? Specifically, 11 oz Mugs, 16" tote bags, t-shirts, or phone cases.

Have you found that changing the price makes more sales? If so, what price worked the best for you?

I have been experimenting with Mugs at $20 or $25, been going with $25

Tote bag experimenting between $35 and $40

t-shirt between $35 and $40

What works for you?

I have found $15 for my 15 oz mugs to be a sweet spot for me. I also use my mugs as an incentive for collectors investing in larger pieces.

That is a great idea on the incentive! Thanks for your input on the price. You must have a different source for your mugs at that price? I wouldn't make any profit at $15/ 15oz mug with the integrated option I use.

Welcome in! Testing $20 vs $25 on mugs is the kind of real-world specific that beats theory. What are you putting on them?

I put my paintings on them. I've tried different paintings and they all eventually sell, but would be fun to have them go faster. It's a good seller at markets. What has worked best for you?

The $5 swings make such a difference in how people read value. I've done that same back and forth with print pricing, every adjustment feels like a guess until suddenly it clicks.

Yes, it can be surprising what a difference it makes for these type of items. What has worked for you on print pricing?
