Limited Edition International Shipping
Hi folks, question about shipping costs for limited edition prints - I’m very excited to announce that I am running my first limited edition print run from the first piece in a series I’m creating. I want to charge a flat amount for each print that includes the shipping cost, but somebody in the UK already reached out to me interested in purchasing the first print. how do you folks deal with different region based shipping costs when pricing your limited edition work or even originals for that matter? What’s the best way that you factor in those costs to the price or do you let international collectors know that shipping will be an additional cost. In that case do you give them an estimated shipping cost? Please help this newbie to the limited edition shipping and print world. 🫠?
Congrats on the first limited edition run — that's a big deal. On international shipping: don't overthink it. Flat rate is your friend. Figure out what it actually costs you to ship to the UK (box, packing, postage), add a small buffer, and make that your international flat rate. You'll lose a couple bucks on some shipments, make a couple on others. It all evens out. The worst thing you can do is make the checkout process confusing with a bunch of add-ons and calculators. You want the buyer focused on the art, not doing math. Right? Keep it simple. Ship it. Move on to the next one.
Thank you! Yes that’s what I wound up doing. Glad I was on the right path! Always learning as we go.
