Pelican Pose

Description

This watercolor presents a pelican with a striking yellow head, its feathers rendered in a careful, yet fluid style that balances detail with movement. I approached the subject with a focus on texture and the interplay of blue and gray tones, allowing the bird’s natural character to emerge through the layered washes. The subtle background shifts in green and blue enhance the pelican’s form without overwhelming it. This piece offers a serene, contemplative addition to any collection.
