Description

I was experimenting with focusing on surreal depictions of oddly-shaped objects in nature. In this case, a maple tree in Autumn with pine trees in the background. I always felt this chalk drawing had a psychedelic feel to it. I was finally beginning to develop the color contrast I used in my future work. I initially titled this drawing "Breaking the Girl," as it reminded me of the music video of the Red Hot Chili Peppers song by the same name.

I engage in storytelling through (mostly) pastel chalk, focusing on surreal imagery depicting natural settings. I am attempting to expand to other mediums and other themes. I want to expand into social causes and collaborative work.
