The Mask is the carefully curated version of self
the world demands. Chin lifted in pride, the figure
performs composure: the pose that insists
everything is under control, that nothing is
missing, that self-sufficiency is strength. Yet
beneath the stone-like exterior lies the quiet
suggestion that this façade requires effort,
tension, and distance. In this work, the artist
unveils the spiritual poverty of pretending to be
unbreakable, inviting the viewer to confront the
exhausting performance of perfection.
