Description
A sculpture made of fused glass and stainless steel. 6 rings, 3/4"-thick are supported by steel rings. The glass is highly interactive with light. The represents the weather measurement of evaporative transpiration. Evapotranspiration is the combined process by which water transfers from the earth's surface to the atmosphere. It is the sum of evaporation (water turning into vapor from soil and water bodies) and transpiration (water movement through plants and releases vapor from their leaves). In the West, we are facing an intense drought. When rain does come, it's mudded by the sandy soils. Blue very quickly turns brown. The discs are separted and held apart creating tension and the molecules are separating into vapor.
