Description
Created in response to studying the crucifixion of Christ, Eli, Eli reflects the emotional weight of sacrifice, suffering, and redemption. Expressive layers of red, black, gold, and pale blue converge around a solitary central form, suggesting both anguish and transcendence.
Named after Christ's cry from the cross, the painting explores the tension between despair and faith, abandonment and divine purpose. Rather than depicting the crucifixion directly, it seeks to capture the emotional and spiritual impact of that moment, inviting reflection on suffering, grace, and the enduring hope found within both.
