Inspired by Picasso’s depictions of Jacqueline and his play with interior light through windows. My Picasso N°5 captures a moment of connection through a raised hand, surrounded by cool blue grids and starry night patterns. The split face reveals dual emotional states, emphasized by thick oil pastel mark-making.
Pablo Picasso is my favorite artist — not so much for his colors, but for his style. Cubism, and his way of showing things and people from a different point of view.
Showing that the imperfect and the unbeautiful can be beautiful. That it can make you stop and look closer. Look deeper into yourself, and feel what speaks to you.
That’s how a series was born — “MY PICASSO.” Inspired by his works, I created my own.
This is my style, my perspective on his art. I chose a piece of his and interpreted it my way…
