Description
Acrylic on canvas over plywood box with guitar strings and violin tailpiece; 36 x 36 x 1 in.
We know all about the benefits of music (it’s heart healthy; it elevates mood; it reduces stress; it relieves symptoms of depression; it stimulates memories; it manages pain; it eases pain; it helps people eat less; it increases workout endurance), but this piece (Soundflowers—meant to be spelled like this—as an homage to the great rock band Soundgarden!) wants to talk about the impact (benefit?) on the artistic expression, where fresh new guitar strings (thank you, Alfredo Grado Jr. @jr.alfredogrado —musician/performer/educator) are growing a beautiful (visual) sound in dissonance to their low, fat, tight, warm, bright, muddy, boomy, and throaty original one.
